aceo for manteniel

As I watched JinnaiNishida painting stuff with acrylics, I found accidentaly mixed colours on his palette intriguing, so I took some paper and started painting. No sketch, no idea, no rules.. Colours declared the mood, mood declared brushstrokes, brushstrokes declared the shape of branches, branches declared the fitting bird and basically the whole thing except for the bird was done in one layer, in one go. I didn't want to screw up so while the card was drying, I looked up this photo fav.me/d6gjfvb by trynxie, which helped me to get the sparrow just right. Quite to my surprise, in fact, because whole bird is smaller than my thumb! Then I added few details over here and there, and went over few places with pink watercolour pencil to soften the blossoms and define the atmosphere better.

Anyway, I discovered I quite enjoy working with acrylics, as long as they are as liquid as possible. But I still hold a lot of grudge for their brush-destroying habits. D: But expect more to come!
